Bitte helft einem alten Mann wie mir, der die ganze Chilihead-Szene nur und ausschließlich durch das Fenster dieses Forums kennt: Wer ist Jim Duffy und wo genau hat er was genau zu diesem Thema gesagt? Ja, ich habe Google verwendet aber das schickt mich ausschließlich auf nicht mehr erreichbare Seiten.

...ok, das steht auf der Semillas-Facebook Seite als Kommentar unter dem Bild, das den Moritz mit seiner Freundin im Gewächshaus zeigt. Ich hab einfach mal kopiert:

"So you will probably be offended by this comment. But you are making many mistakes. I speak from experience as a seed grower. The time wasted moving the operations to Cyprus and then starting with 100 varieties almost a year later shows me you do not know what you are doing. Many customers will not return. And when they do they will come back to 100 varieties instead of almost 600??? I have been doing this almost 18 years and learned from your father who came before me. We have helped one another the past decade. You do not possess the skills of him or your sister. Maybe you learned a few things when you were younger but not enough. I'm sure everyone is so happy that a family member will carry on. But also you may kill it as well! My advice to you is the following.
1. Leave Cyprus for a season and have your father and Marlene be at your side thoroughly training you.

2. While in the Canary Islands build up the seeds inventory to cushion you during transit to Cyprus. You dont have to do every variety but at least build up the top 400.

3. While you are in the Canary Islands start building the operations in Cyprus. Hire someone who knows growing and pay them well!

If you make customers wait a year and then just say be happy we only have 100 varieties then it will be the beginning of the end. People will go elsewhere as chile hobbyists don't wait around. This is not a fun game. It's now a world where fake breeders and overnight sellers flood social media. The only reason your Father and I have survived is we have built up customers over decades. So we were insulated to a degree. Drag your feet and don't act urgently and you will see the most largest and reputable Chile seed business in the world die!! This is not a fun game this is business. Your best bet in my opinion would be to leave Cyprus and move back. Now if your offended by me good! Because if you do as planned and ignore me then I will stand to gain. Although I'm growing tired of International shipping so maybe I just drop all of EU next year. Also FYI getting seeds into Cyprus for me is horrible. So don't worry about me selling there. I wish you luck. But luck won't be enough to run your father's business and keep it at a high level. Take care Moritz! Move to Canary!"

WOW - es ist ja noch viel heftiger als ich dachte - ich war davon ausgegangen, dass er das Saatgut komplett übernimmt - und nicht, dass er auf dem freien Markt anfängt Saatgut zusammenzukaufen und sich vom Ergebnis überraschen zu lassen. Ich bin einigermaßen sprachlos - und sehr froh, Anfang dieses Jahres noch bestellt zu haben.

@KölnKräuter Im letzten Video sagte er, es dauert noch, bis das Saatgut aus den Kanaren eintrifft. Er wollte aber schon vorher los legen, darum hat er welches gekauft.

...so etwas kann man auch privat schreiben, wenn man es gut meint, Unabhängig vom Wahrheitsgehalt...

...der hat doch ähnlich wie ich keinerlei Ahnung ob oder von wem sich der Moritz beraten lässt und ob die alte Produktionstätte auf der Kanaren überhaupt noch existiert. Übrigens wird hier kein Bayer-Werk oder eine VW-Fabrik umgesiedelt...

...bodenlose Frechheit von dem Typen, letztendlich ja ein Konkurrent, so einen Kommentar öffentlich abzusetzen und den als quasi väterlichen Rat zu verkaufen....

...der Fehler den der benennt ist ja die Reduktion des Sortiments...

...Dinge die wirklich schiefgelaufen sind, wenn auch unverschuldet, in einem YouTube-Video anzusprechen ist allerdings wirklich Moritz' Fehler, das darf man nicht machen, so ist das leider...

...Papa Merle hat auch irgendwann verkreuztes Saatgut zugekauft, schrieb er hier irgendwo im Forum, unmöglich den Beitrag wiederzufinden ...
